The Sporn Group has been in the placement industry for fourteen years, primarily in the information technology area and more recently in the legal field. We are capable of placing qualified attorneys and paralegals in permanent, contract, and "temp-to-perm" openings. Our legal clients include large full service, medium size and boutique law firms as well as a diverse group of corporations, inluding publishing, media/entertainment, internet, technology, insurance, real estate development and financial institutions.

Our dual expertise in law and technology has positioned us to develop a specialty in the recruiting and placement of intellectual property attorneys. Our aggregate of consultants in both fields qualifies us to evaluate technical and scientific credentials as well as legal training and experience. Our legal search consultants' experience includes both in-house as attorney, as well as former associations with well-established law firms. Thus, our understanding of the unique needs of large firms, as well as the challenge and opportunity of the boutique practice has a degree of sophistication not often found in this industry.

Our approach emphasizes quality rather than quantity. We stay abreast of changes in the practice and business of law, as well as get to know our candidates as people. We take great pride in the skillful "match" of lawyer with law firm or corporate culture. We establish working relationships with a partner or partners as well as the appropriate recruiting coordinator at each of our client firms. This is particularly critical in the multidimensional and rapidly changing areas of intellectual property and new media. Familiarity with a firm's client base and concentration of practice areas within the discipline maximizes the potential to present appropriate candidates. We have also placed candidates on temporary projects in the Tri-state area, which occasionally result in direct hires by the client. This method works especially well for in-house legal departments as neither party requires a committment up front and they can gradually get to know each other until the only decision is "when", not "if".
